When is the best time to enroll in this program?

The best time to enroll is a few months or several weeks before the exam. The practical strategies taught in this program are designed to be practiced on a regular basis several weeks before the exam. Board preparation just a few days prior to the exam has a limited value (except for desensitization), in my opinion.

Dr. Rayel’s program is designed for all oral exam candidates. However as an IMG himself, Dr. Rayel understands the difficulties and challenges that IMGs face. Moreover, this program is quite helpful for candidates with interview and presentation deficiencies.

What does the 'hands-on' training involve?

It involves practical application of interview and presentation strategies, presentation of cases, exposure to clinical vignettes, audiocassette recording and analysis, among others.

What is Dr. Rayel’s credential to help you improve your chance to pass the exam?

Dr. Rayel has written the Psychiatry Oral Exam eModule, Clinical Vignettes for ABPN II Vols. 1 and 2, Clinical Vignettes Comprehensive, and two books on ABPN Psychiatry board preparation. As a faculty, he has supervised and has given lectures to trainees and health care professionals on psychiatric interview and presentation.

Dr. Rayel is one of the very few psychiatrists with both training and board certification in forensic and geriatric psychiatry. Currently, he is a Diplomate of American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with subspecialty certifications in forensic and geriatric psychiatry, and psychosomatic medicine. He's also certified in Advanced Clinical Psychopharmacology by the American Society of Clinical Pharmacology(ASCP).
